Co-op this week music/art

We had a GREAT co-op this week and recruited some new families. YAY!! What an AWESOME group we have! This week we combined art and music. We had the kids listen to some classical music then to draw pictures or write about what they felt when they listened. It was so awesome to see the different ideas the kids had and the different emotions they felt. After we had cupcakes for Olivia's friend Audry for her B-day. The kids had a blast!







These are Brooke and Olivia's pictures they drew when listening to the music. Brooke's is the "happy sun" and Olivia's is a waterfall with a bright sun. I thought it was so interesting they both drew a sun.

Mummy exhibit!!!!!!!

So, this was by far one of the coolest things we have done homeschooling. We went on a field trip with Olivia's little school to see the Mummy exhibit at Discovery Place in uptown. It was A-mazing! The stories of these people's lives were just so sad and so incredible at the same time. There was a 6500 year old mummy. I mean, you could still see it's eyelashes. I can't say enough how incredible this was.

Olivia loved this. She was completely fascinated with the mummies and loved hearing about their lives. She would ask lots of questions and got very excited when she seen some real hieroglyphics. We really really loved this and sense we just got through studying Egypt, it made this even more special!

Daddy/Daughter date- Build it workshop at Lowes

Russell took the girls to Lowes a few weeks ago for their workshops. If you haven't done this yet, GO!! It's awesome! They made a castle and they thought it was really the coolest thing ever that they got to use REAL tools! They are going to plan these a lot more.

Morning chores!

The day in the life of homeschoolers. Chores, chores, chores!!! Yeah right!

LOL!! Serioulsy though, they are such good girls and they love to help mommy clean. They are so cute!

Olivia is running away...LOL!!

HAHAHAHA!! Olivia was so mad the other day that she bundled up and told us she was running away. We got the camera and said we needed some pictures of her then so we would remember what she looks like. She was SO MAD!! Then she laughed.

Health "class" last week was TEETH

We had fun learning about teeth and did a fun project. We cut out different foods from a magazine and had to put into two categories which foods make our teeth happy and which ones made our teeth sad. They did such a good job.

Hula hooping class!!!

Olivia started a hula hooping class this semester. She completely LOVES it!!!! It is such a fun class and it really burns some energy! WE need that around here. :) She is getting so good! It's really cool to watch these girls! They are amazing!

Imaginon

This is our library in Uptown. Isn't it crazy cool?? The girls LOVE going here. We went after visiting daddy at work a few weeks ago and like always it was super fun!

Visiting daddy at work

We visited Russell at work after New Years and it was so nice. The girls LOVE walking around Uptown and they loved seeing daddy at work too. What a fun day!
