A.C. Moore field trip
Another field trip for us. LOL!! This one however, not so great. They gave a us a quick tour then after, the kids were suppose to make "dream boards" I assumed they would do a fun craft and make something cool. Nope. Instead, they were given a sheet of paper and some crayons and told to write about a dream they had. We were all scrathcing our heads. All in all, we have had some phenominal field trips this year. This one did not cut it. :(
The kids still had fun though.

Guacamole!!!
We could live on homemade guacamole in this house. We make a huge bowl of it every week and demolish it. The girls love helping me make it and then eat it all up.

water balloons!!
Russell and the girls made water balloons and had a great time splatting them all over the street...and daddy's car...HA!
IMAX-Born To Be Wild
This was seriously incredible!!! We learned about the orphans in Kenya. Elephants and Orangutans. It was so amazing. We went with Olivia's school again. So many great things happened this month.

Fire station tour!
We had so much fun learning about fire safety from the pros. We went with Olivia's school and the kids just had a great time.

snacks!!!
I am trying to do without ANY processed foods these days. We are doing pretty good. There area few things the kids can't seem to give up but at least they are organic snacks. So, the other day we made a rainbow of snacks and put them in the fridge. I told them these snacks they could eat anytime. Lots of fruits and veggies. The devoured them all!!! It really is all about the presentation!
Ranger Rick and The Big Backyard
These magazines are fantastic!! The girls love to get mail and dive right into them when they arrive. We have learned some interesting things with these. LOL!!
Mapwork
I really love black lined maps. You learn so much with these. Last week we learned about Persia and this is one of the many many blacklined maps we have done this year. She really enjoys this.

I love.....
that my kids can sit ON the table to do their schoolwork. Hey, as long as it gets done...I am happy!
Co-op Valentine's day
For co-op we made V-day cookies and had a fun activity. We used all our senses to figure out what objects were in a bag. The kids really enjoyed it!

Parties parties parties!
Lots of parties this month. We had a V-day party at Olivia and Brooke's friend's house. They had an absolute blast!! It was so good to see some old friends again.

Feburary=craziness!
Feburary was a crazy, exciting and fun month. First we celebrated Valentine's day a whole lot. Ww had the kids exchange Valentine cards at school. Here are the girls making V-day cards.

Co-op this week music/art
We had a GREAT co-op this week and recruited some new families. YAY!! What an AWESOME group we have! This week we combined art and music. We had the kids listen to some classical music then to draw pictures or write about what they felt when they listened. It was so awesome to see the different ideas the kids had and the different emotions they felt. After we had cupcakes for Olivia's friend Audry for her B-day. The kids had a blast!

These are Brooke and Olivia's pictures they drew when listening to the music. Brooke's is the "happy sun" and Olivia's is a waterfall with a bright sun. I thought it was so interesting they both drew a sun.

Mummy exhibit!!!!!!!
So, this was by far one of the coolest things we have done homeschooling. We went on a field trip with Olivia's little school to see the Mummy exhibit at Discovery Place in uptown. It was A-mazing! The stories of these people's lives were just so sad and so incredible at the same time. There was a 6500 year old mummy. I mean, you could still see it's eyelashes. I can't say enough how incredible this was.
Olivia loved this. She was completely fascinated with the mummies and loved hearing about their lives. She would ask lots of questions and got very excited when she seen some real hieroglyphics. We really really loved this and sense we just got through studying Egypt, it made this even more special!
